    Retail Project Coordinator

    Bahrain, our operational hub for over 25 years, is home to our specialist joinery and metalwork manufacturing teams alongside most back-office functions. Our turnkey fit-out contracting divisions operate across Bahrain, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

    Role Summary
    The Retail Project Coordinator will be responsible for supervising, directing, and providing technical support to the appointed metalwork (MW) fit-out teams on-site, ensuring the seamless installation of joinery elements. This role requires hands-on experience, strong communication skills, self-motivation, multitasking ability, and flexibility to travel as needed.

    Role Description

    Project Kick-Off:

    • Arrange kick-off meetings with the appointed fit-out teams and, where necessary, coordinate with the general contractor to align on project scope, timelines, and expectations.

    Site Assessment:

    • Conduct initial site visits when required, perform surveys, take photographs, identify loading zones, and provide feedback to the Setting Out Manager (SOM) on critical dimensions or site-specific considerations.

    Technical Expertise:

    • Use hands-on experience or expertise to set out or mark joinery equipment on-site if needed.
    • Address technical queries from the client or general contractor during MW installation by thoroughly understanding the MW equipment throughout its lifecycle.

    Project Management:

    • Develop and maintain the project’s work schedule, ideally using MS Projects, to ensure timelines are met.
    • Prepare daily or weekly site progress reports, including photos, and submit them to the Project Manager (PM) and SOM for review.
    • Oversee multiple projects at varying stages of development, independently prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.
    • Proactively manage ongoing projects, demonstrating initiative without requiring constant supervision or follow-ups.

    Communication and Coordination:

    • Maintain clear and effective communication with fit-out teams, factory personnel, and clients or their representatives. Relay any discrepancies to the line manager for swift resolution.
    • Monitor the installation process in person and report any adjustments needed to MW equipment to the setting out team for future fit-out installations.
    • Exhibit confidence and clear expression during client interactions, negotiating demands appropriately and managing high-pressure situations with composure.
    • Effectively coordinate tasks within the fit-out teams, considering the project scope in its entirety and responding directly to on-site queries and issues.

    Travel and Flexibility:

    • Willingness to travel within the MENA region and beyond, with the flexibility to work weekends or outside standard hours as required by travel or site plans.

    Candidate Requirements

    Experience:

    • 5–8 years of relevant experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in the retail joinery or construction industry.

    Skills:

    • Proficient in verbal and written English.
    • Competent in AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and MS Projects.
    • Strong customer service skills, ensuring client satisfaction and resolving concerns promptly.
