We have delivered multiple projects for fine dining destination Babel and its sub-brand Beabel.
In our first project at The Avenues – Bahrain, the design featured resin wall panels, mock columns, basalt and mosaic floor times and up to 14,500 fibre optic lights decorating the ceiling. The installation of the resin panels demanded a high level of coordination and accuracy. At the same time, the double-height ceiling called for the erection of scaffolding to provide access to the ceiling works. Based on our experience, we helped take the brand to Dubai, where we fitted out a Babel restaurant at La Mer and the contemporary and casual Bebabel at Dubai Mall. Our most recent standalone Babel project with a unique architecture is within the Ajdan Walk in AlKhobar, KSA.
Upon entering through the grand threshold, guests are transported to the golden era of the 1920s, reminiscent of the illustrious Great Gatsby era. We fashioned bold geometric shapes and intricate panels from opulent materials such as marble and brass add a touch of modernism and haute couture.
A significant source of inspiration for the design was the moon and its reflection upon the tranquil waters of the Arabian Gulf, a motif elegantly manifested in the restaurant’s ceiling design. The pendant globe lights, with their moon-like textures, cast an ethereal glow, while the rippled steel-clad ceiling artfully mimics the surface of the sea.
The flooring, composed of brass and black-and-white terrazzo, symbolizes the transition from lunar day to night, offering a unique perspective on the passage of time within this timeless space.
